About

The Board of Management is the Chief Executive Body of the University responsible for formulation / modification and review of acts besides, formulation of policies concerning functioning of the University. It is also responsible for financial requirement and review of the University. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chairman and the Registrar acts as Member Secretary of the Board.

 

Powers and Functions

  1. Frame, amend and repeal the Statute/Regulations in the manner prescribed under this Act
  2. Review and consider the financial requirements and estimate for the University and approve its budget
  3. Approve the recommendation for appointment of officers, teachers and other staff of the University
  4. To accept or transfer any property on behalf of the University
  5. To administer funds placed at the disposal of the University for the purpose intended
  6. To arrange for the investment and withdrawal of the funds of the University
  7. To accept on behalf of the University trusts, bequests and donations
  8. To consider and approve the recommendations of the Academic Council where required
  9. To direct the form and use of the common seal of the University
  10. To appoint such committees and bodies as it may deem necessary and set down the terms of reference thereof in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the Statutes
  11. To consider and approve establishment, amalgamation and abolition of Colleges, Department, Centre or Research Station/sub-station on the recommendation of Academic Council. New college/faculty shall be established only after prior approval of the State Government
  12. To create teaching, research and extension education posts with the prior approval of the State Government

  2. Agriculture Production Commissioner/Principal Secretary/ Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Government of Bihar
  3. Principal Secretary/ Secretary, Finance Department of the State Government
  4. Principal Secretary/ Secretary, Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources
  5. Director, Agriculture
  6. Director, Horticulture
  7. One eminent educationist (not below the rank of Professor) from the field of Agriculture and allied Sciences to be nominated by the State Government
  8. Two representatives of State Legislature to be nominated by the State Government
  9. One outstanding woman social worker having background of rural advancement to be nominated by the State Government
  10. One progressive farmer from the jurisdiction of the university to be nominated by the State Government
  11. One distinguished agro-industrialist to be nominated by the State Government
  12. One representative from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to be nominated by the Director General, ICAR
  13. One Director to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor in rotation as prescribed in the Statutes
  14. One Dean to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor in rotation as prescribed in the Statutes
  15. One Chairman of the Post-Graduate Department to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor in rotation as prescribed in the Statutes
