About Registrar
Dr Md Mizanul Haque was born on July 6th 1963 and obtained his BSc (Ag) and MSc (Ag) from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour under Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa. Samastipur, Bihar in the year 1987 and 1990, respectively. He completed PhD degree from Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi. In 1991, Dr Haque started his professional career as Junior Scientist-cum-Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy, at Bihar Agricultural College. Sabour, Bhagalpur. He has been recognised as University Professor-cum-Chief Scientist in 2010. His administrative calibre is demonstrated with the capability of handling the charge of Registrar of Bihar Agricultural University from 2018.
Dr Haque has been actively involved in Teaching, Research, Extension and Training activities in the field of Agriculture and Allied Sciences for the last 28 years and contributed significantly for shaping the future of the students and improving the lifestyle of the farming community. His dedication towards teaching and process of learning made him receive the Gold Medal for Best Teacher Awards in the faculty of Agriculture of the University for his outstanding contribution and motivating students to choose their professional career in Agricultural Education and Research. Beyond this, Dr Haque has been awarded with Research Excellence Award-2020 and Best Teacher Award-2020 by the Institute of Scholar. He has been honoured with Life Time Achievement Awards by the Asian Education Award and the Green Agricultural Professional Society (GPS) in recognition of novelty and valuable contribution and achievements in the field of Agronomy. He has significantly contributed in research; Dr Haque has been associated with the All India Coordinated Wheat and Barley Improvement Project as Senior Agronomist and contributed significantly for the development of three wheat varieties ideally suited for different sowing situations of Bihar. He has published more than 40 research papers in scientific journals of national and international repute. In view of his outstanding contribution in research, he received the Best Paper Award from the Indian Society of Agronomy. More than 30 scientific popular articles and more than 20 scientific bulletins have been published by him. He has also contributed to the publishing of book chapters. He has guided two PhD and five MSc (Ag) scholars.
Functions
- The Registrar shall be responsible for the preparation of the annual report of the University for approval of the Vice-Chancellor and the Senate/Board of Management.
- The Registrar shall be the custodian of the academic records of the academic semester of the University.
- The Registrar shall administer the prescribed provisions for admission, registration and enrolment of students and the continuance of enrolment and maintenance of students’ records.
- The Registrar shall be responsible for the maintenance of registers of all degrees and diplomas conferred by the University.
- The Registrar shall carry out other duties assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor.
- The Registrar shall assist the Vice-Chancellor in all matters of general administration.
- The Registrar shall be the officer to sue and be sued on behalf of the University.
- The Registrar shall be ex-officio Secretary to the Board of Management/Senate and Faculty.
