A one-day Health checkup camp and Nutri-kits distribution programme (Posted on : 28/11/2023)

A one-day Health checkup camp of adopted primary school childrens and Nutri-kits distribution programme was organized by Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj, as part of the Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour's Malnutrition Eradication Programme under the chairmanship of Dr. K. Sathyanarayan, Assoc. Dean-cum-Principal. The programme took place on November 27th, 2023, at the Village Ganiyabadi, Panchayat Motathana, Block Pothiya, District Kishanganj. The said programme was conducted in collaboration with the medical staff of the Pothiya Community Health Centre, of Kishanganj District. Initially, the model Nutri-garden, where farmers had planted fruits and medicinal plants, was visited by Dr. Sathyanarayana K. Assoc. Dean-cum-Principal. Following the field visit, about 50 farmers received a nutri-kit containing vegetable seeds. The medical team subsequently assessed the kids' nutritional conditions at Jharwabadi Primary School.

MoU between DKAC Kishanganj and Central Silk Board, Bangalore on 08.11.2023 (Posted on : 08/11/2023)

Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj under Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur and Central Silk Board,  Ministry of Textiles,  Govt. of India, Bangalore, entered in to a non-financial MoU on 08.11.2023 at Administrative Staff College, Guwahati, Assam. The MoU was signed by Dr. Sathyanarayana K., Associate Dean cum Principal, Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj and Dr. S. Manthira Moorthy, Director [Tech], CSB, Bangalore in the presence of Padma Shree Dr. S. Ayyappan, Former Secretary,  DARE & DG, ICAR & Chairman, Research Co-ordination Committee- CSB, Shri. P. Shivakumar, Member Secretary, CSB, other members of RCC- CSB, Directors & scientists of CSB and stakeholders in Silk Industry from NE States. The main areas of cooperation in the MOU are to provide quality education and training in all the sectors of sericulture and to conduct research in areas of mutual benefits.

Stakeholder Meet For Promotion of Tea in Bihar (Posted on : 05/11/2023)

In compliance to the directions of the Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Bihar, Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj under Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour organized a field visit at Tarni villages of Pothia and Koshidangi village of Thakurganj on 02.11.2023 under the chairmanship of Dr. J. P. Singh, Nodal Officer, Horticultural Research Centre to understand status and problems faced by small tea growers in Bihar. While Dr. Trina Mandal, Tea Research Association (TRA), Bengdubi, W.B. was the Chief Guest, representatives of Tea Board of India, PRADAN, Scientists of Horticulture Research Centre under Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kishanganj actively participated in the interaction.
