About the college:

The Veer Kunwar Singh College of Agriculture, Dumroan (Buxar) has been established on 27th April, 2010 vide the order of the Govt. of Bihar (Letter No. P.P.M.-08/2009/402/ Krishi, Patna, Dated 22.01.2010). In the Chain of the Agricultural Colleges of the State of Bihar after Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour (Estd. Year 1908), Tirhut College of Agriculture, Dholi (Muzaffarpur) and M. B. College of Agriculture, Agwanpur (Saharsa); the College of Agriculture, Dumroan (Buxar) got the place of 4th bead followed by B. P. S. College of Agriculture, Purnea (Estd. Year 2011). The V.K.S.C. O. A., Dumroan (Buxar) is only an Agricultural College in Zone-III B of Bihar always in readiness to serve the farmers and concerned officers of the districts like Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas and Kaimur.

 Objectives:

  • To impart education in different branches of Agriculture.
  • To undertake strategic and applied research for developing need based agricultural technologies,
  • To disseminate scientific information to the farmers, youth and women,
  • To plan, organize and conduct on campus and off campus training programmes on different subjects to develop human resource capability in the field of Agriculture, specially with value addition mission approach,
  • To provide consultancy service in agricultural field, NGOs, industry and others,
  • To help the state Government in supplying breeder seeds, graft-gooties for multiplication
  • To serve as repository of scientific information in various aspects of agriculture of Zone III-B by collaborating the relevant agencies for future planning ensuring all round development in agriculture and allied fields in the state of Bihar.
  • The main objective of V.K.S.C.O.A. will be ensuring growth in agricultural production by Teaching, Research, Extension and Training activities of the zone III-B.

Goals:

  • Building of human resources in the field of agriculture and allied sector through quality education, training to agriculture officers and farmers for overall development of agriculture sector and food and nutritional security of the people.
  • Increase in agricultural production and productivity of Bihar in particular and of the country in general through appropriate, advance and sustainable technological development and their dissemination to the farmers.
  • Development of food production systems based on agriculture diversification, water & soil conservation and efficient land use planning.
  • Technology adoption by farmers experiencing common agriculture challenges.
