Dr. Kiran Kumari is presently working as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist (Selection Grade), Department of Entomology, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour. She has completed her graduation in Agriculture, Post Graduation in Entomology and Agricultural Zoology from Rajedra Agricultural Universtiy, Pusa, Samastipur, Bihar and Doctoral Degree in Entomology and Agricultural Zoology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. She is having more than 34 years of professional experiences in scientific position as Assistant Professor, Tirhut College of Agriculture, Dholi, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, RAU, Pusa, Bihar and Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, BAU, Sabour, Bhagalpur.She is sincerely devoted to the issue related to women in agriculture and working women in particular. She has already headed the ICC, BAU, Sabour as former Chairman 27.03.2018 to 26.03.2021 (03 Years). She is also working as Chairman, Female Official Committee of adopted School with aim to aware about agricultural education as well as mal-nutrition amongst the girls student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Sabour (Type-I), Bhagalpur.

Functions and duties of unit :

To uphold the rights and dignity of women at work places (BAU-HQ, Sabour Campus)
To address the issues related to sexual harassment of women/ girls at work places within BAU-HQ/ BAC Sabour campus.
Creating awareness among the working women/ girls about the functioning of the ICC in the Campus.

Services provided by the unit :

Message circulated among all Unit Heads in the University Campus for further circulation among all working women, girls and other employees regarding the existence and functioning of ICC at BAU-HQ/ BAC Sabour Campus.
An awareness programme organized for the girl students (UG/PG) in the girls’ hostel, BAC Sabour regarding functioning of the ICC and POSH Act, 2013.
Efforts have been made to upload the role of ICC in the BAU website.

Workshop and Awareness:

1. The workshop on Awareness of Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace

Upon the visionary approach of Honourable Vice Chancellor, B.A.U, Sabour Dr D R Singh and in line with our national and state guidelines Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is well in place at B.A.U, Sabour. Under its flagship a sensitization workshop was conducted on Awareness of Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace commenced at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, on February 12, 2024, at 11 AM. The workshop addressed the concerns of safety of women at workplace as well as to serve as an instrument for prevention of sexual harassment of women at workplace. Distinguished dignitaries who graced the occasion were Dean of Agriculture, B.A.U, Sabour,Dr. A. K. Sah, Director of Student Welfare, B.A.U, Sabour,Dr. J. N. Srivastava, Dr. Sujata Sharma Advisor, Family court Bhagalpur and Dr. Kiran Kumari, Chairman ICC, B.A.U. Sabour and Dr. A. K. Sah emphasized the importance of having a free and safe environment at workplace to tap the immense potential of women towards the institutionsas well as society.Dr.J. N. Srivastava highlighted the workshop's purpose, underscoring the university's commitment to female student’s, faculties and staff’s safety. Dr. Sujata Sharma elaborated on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, while Dr. Kiran Kumari provided a comprehensive overview, stressing the importance of the Internal Complaints Committee. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, urging collective action in creating a safe workplace culture for women.
