OBJECTIVE:
- Weather forecast: Twice in a week- Tuesday and Friday
Parameters forecasted are rainfall, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, cloud cover, relative humidity (morning), relative humidity (evening), wind velocity and wind direction and forecast is valid for five days.
- Advisory services for farmers:
- Management of farming systems according to the weather conditions is suggested.
- Application of fertilizer, irrigation, cultural practices, spraying of pesticides, fungicides, harvesting of crops and storage or other farm related works are advised according to the weather forecasted. Fisheries, animal husbandry, poultry, etc. are also advised according to the weather condition

Advisory services communicated to the farmers:
- Every day, daily weather data and weather forecasting is given to the newspapers like Dainik jagran, Prabhat khabar, Hindustan, Nayi baat, Rashtiya Sahara etc. on phone call for general public in surrounding area.
- Agro advisory bulletin is sent to all KVK’s, NGO’s, ATMA, Anna data programme for farmers through ETV, office of District agricultural officer, all news papers published in the area, All India radio, though e mail.
- It is also sent to the kisan helpline, technical cell, VC cell and Director Extension in BAU, Sabour.
- It is uploaded to the web site www.bausabour.ac.in of BAU, Sabour and Indian meteorological department www.imdagrimet.gov.in.
