Mandate

• The mandate of Dairy Unit is to ensure Teaching and Learning facilities for students, trainee and farmers.
• Students and Research Scholars are provided here with livestock for their research and experimental trials.
• Farmers visiting Dairy unit are getting necessary information on Disease control and livestock farming.

Achievements

The following research trials have been conducted here:

1. Research trials on a protein source animal feed- Azolla has been completed (2012-14) and result revealed increase of 14% in milk production on addition of azolla in feed.
2. Research on microbial organisms for mastitis revealed causative organisms prevailing among the dairy cow (2016-19).
3. An Innovative approach of Feed block feeding and its and its effect on dairy animals has been established (2019-22)
4. Research work on hydroponic fodder is under the process

1. Supply of milk and dairy products on approved rate.
